On March 17th, 2005 we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the founding of St. Brigid Home and the Father Taaffe Foundation. It is hard to believe that in these years more than a thousand girls have passed through our doors.

A thousand girls! A thousand babies! Truly a "Celebration of Life"!

We don't know where most of them are, or what ever became of many of them, but we believe that in the short time they with us, each took away a spark of life that in some way still illuminates their life.

In 30 years there have been many changes. But the mission of our homes has not changed. We continue to provide:

  • A positive alternative to abortion.
  • Demonstrate that no child need be unwanted.
  • Affirm our belief that all human life is sacred at any stage of development.

The girls that come to us are still very hurt teenagers with many needs. We offer them shelter food, safety, acceptance, guidance, patience, compassion and love. In short a "home".

We plan to keep our doors open for at least another 30 years!

St. Brigid, St. Monica, and St. Teresa homes provide safe, comfortable, residence for single, pregnant teens and teen mothers with children, as an alternative to abortion.
